At Franplast, we have published our first Sustainability Report for the year 2025, prepared in accordance with the new European CSRD directives. This document represents a fundamental milestone and translates our corporate vision into concrete numbers.
Guided by the commitment to protect the Franciacorta region where we operate, we have placed ESG principles at the core of our strategy. From energy efficiency to innovation in elastomeric materials and social inclusion, our goal is to demonstrate that industrial excellence and respect for the environment can grow together, creating value for future generations.
Energy Efficiency and Resource Protection
Under the leadership of CEO Elena Franceschetti, the ecological transition at Franplast translates into measurable actions: thanks to investments in our photovoltaic system, over the past three years we have increased self-consumed clean energy by more than 60%, reducing grid electricity purchases by 13% and avoiding approximately 600,000 kg of CO2 emissions per year. In addition, our heat recovery systems have enabled us to reduce groundwater extraction by 32%.
Sustainable Innovation in Elastomeric Materials
Our R&D team focuses on creating high-quality, low-environmental-impact solutions. Key achievements include:
- Chemiton Life: a range of compounds formulated with raw materials from renewable or recycled sources.
- Greenplay: our eco-friendly, 100% recyclable elastomer designed for synthetic turf infill.
To ensure maximum transparency, we calculate product Carbon Footprint (ISO 14067:2018), complementing this effort with our international certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, and ISO 14064-1 for organizational carbon footprint).
Social Responsibility and Local Community Connection
For us, sustainability also means caring for people. We value diversity, with a workforce that is 60% female among office staff, full gender parity at management level, and the renewal of our Gender Equality Certification (UNI/PdR 125:2022). In 2025, we achieved the target of zero workplace accidents, promoting team well-being also through the WHP (Workplace Health Promotion) program.
We also feel a strong responsibility toward our local area. For this reason, we support neuro-oncological research through the AIRNO association, workplace inclusion for young people with disabilities with ASD LV7 Experience, and career guidance projects with local educational institutions to bring young people closer to sustainable industry.
In line with the UN 2030 Agenda, we have already outlined clear goals including the energy efficiency of our buildings and the adoption of ISO 20400 guidelines to ensure sustainable procurement along our entire supply chain. We want to prove every day that industrial excellence and respect for nature can coexist, generating lasting value for the community and future generations.
